Machu Picchu, the best tourist attraction in the world

Being titled the best tourist attraction in the world is, without a doubt, of the utmost importance for tourism in Peru.

Promperú, a tourism agency in the country, highlighted not only the importance of being considered the best culinary destination for the sixth consecutive time, but also gaining space for the best destination in the world is the result of the strong tourism work that Peru has developed in recent years.

According to a study carried out by the tourism agency, 82% of tourists consider the country as a gastronomic destination.

“These recognitions that we receive as a country are the result of the work we are doing to promote tourism resources and our gastronomy. (…) Therefore, we will contribute to improving the quality of life of all Peruvians whose well-being depends on the growth of international tourist arrivals.”

On average, Machu Picchu has received approximately 1 million visitors in recent years.

Peru, the best culinary destination in the world

Another award, received for the sixth consecutive year, was the best culinary destination in the world.
Peruvian gastronomy and cuisine spread throughout the world, due to its success with tourists.

About 25% of them said they incorporated Peruvian cuisine in their home countries shortly after experiencing the best culinary destination in the world.

The titles received from the main tourist concession body seem to be only the beginning of the recognition of tourism in the region.
