TREK TO SALKANTAY – MACHU PICCHU 5 DAYS
The famous Salkantay Trail to Machu Picchu was recently included among the 25 best routes in the world. The route from Cusco to Machu Picchu is an ancient and remote Inca Trail, which is in the same region “Inca Trail to Machu Picchu”, where huge heaps of snow combined with lush tropical forests.
Located 60 kilometers northwest of the city of Cusco in south central Peru, near the Cordillera Vilcabamba, the 6271 meters above sea level (20.574 feet).
The path to Salkantay is close to a glacier whose summit was revered for thousands of years by the native of Peru. The Salkantay name is a Quechua word meaning “wild mountain”.
The road to Salkantay is designed as an alternative route to the traditional Inca trail to Machu Picchu. Outside the traditional way, this is a new experience for travelers looking for adventure, on a walk with more privacy and authenticity. With spectacular views, the tour offers a variety of climates and microclimates that will be difficult to forget.
