Just a few kilometers south of Lima stands one of the most important ceremonial centers of the Andean world: Pachacamac, the ancient sacred oracle of the coast. For centuries, pilgrims from throughout the Andean territory came here to consult destiny, worship their gods, and offer valuable offerings.
This half-day tour invites you to explore ancestral temples, ancient pyramids, and sacred paths that stretch between the desert and the Pacific Ocean. It is a deep experience of connection with the history, spirituality, and worldview of the cultures that flourished on the Peruvian coast, ideal for travelers seeking an authentic cultural encounter without leaving the city.
Our tour begins at 09:00 hrs with pickup from your hotel in Miraflores, Barranco, or San Isidro. As we head south along the Costa Verde, the guide will share stories about the creator god Pachacamac, ancient pilgrimages, and the importance of this sanctuary as a spiritual and political center of the pre-Inca and Inca world. Upon entering the archaeological complex, we begin a guided walk through its main temples: the Old Temple, one of the oldest structures on the site, and the Painted Temple, famous for its murals and symbols that reveal the worldview of the ancient coastal cultures.
We then ascend to the imposing Temple of the Sun, built by the Incas atop a sacred hill, with panoramic views of the Lurín Valley and the Pacific Ocean. We also visit the Acllahuasi (House of the Chosen), where women dedicated to ceremonial and textile service played a fundamental role in the religious life of the sanctuary. The tour concludes at the Pachacamac Site Museum, home to the famous Pachacamac Idol, after which we return to Lima and drop you off at your hotel.
