Peru All-Inclusive Vacation Packages: What Is Really Included

What a Peru package really includes: hotels, train, Machu Picchu ticket, meals, flights and tips. Prices from US$727 and how to read a quote.

An all-inclusive Peru package is a guided circuit of 3 to 15 days, not a resort stay. It bundles 3-star hotels, breakfasts, transfers, guides, the Machu Picchu train, bus and ticket. Ours run from US$727 (3 days) to US$3,247 (14 days) per person. International flights, most lunches, tips and insurance stay outside.

The short version

  • In Peru, "all inclusive" means the logistics are bundled, not that every meal and drink is paid for.
  • The core of every package is the same: hotels with breakfast, transfers, licensed guides, the Machu Picchu ticket, the train and the shuttle bus to the ruins.
  • What changes between packages is the number of lunches, whether domestic flights are in or out, and how many high mountain days you get.
  • Plan on paying separately for international flights, travel insurance, tips, most dinners and optional climbs like Huayna Picchu.
  • Read the "Included" list on your written quote line by line. That list, not the package name, is what you are buying.

What does "all inclusive" mean for a trip to Peru?

It means one company books and pays for the hard parts of the trip. The trip most visitors want in Peru is a moving one: Lima, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, maybe Lake Titicaca. You sleep in four or five towns, ride a narrow-gauge train, enter sites with timed tickets and climb above 3,000 m. A package takes those moving parts off your list.

Picture a typical day three. A driver is waiting in the hotel lobby at 6:30 a.m. with your name on a list. Your big suitcase stays in the Cusco hotel's storage room, and you carry only a daypack, because PeruRail allows one bag of up to 8 kg on board. The guide pays the entrance at Chinchero, the buffet lunch in the valley is already settled, and at Ollantaytambo station the guide hands you your train tickets. Nobody asks you for cash all day. That is the "inclusive" part.

It does not mean unlimited food and drinks. Dinner in Aguas Calientes or a pisco sour in Cusco is yours.

What is included and what is not? The full table

This table uses the inclusion lists published on our own itineraries in October 2026. It is the comparison we wish every agency printed.

Item Usually included Usually not included What to check in your quote

The train: what the class names mean

The Expedition is PeruRail's standard service. Its own page describes panoramic windows over the Sacred Valley and snacks and drinks sold on board. The Vistadome adds roof windows for wider views, a snack made with local ingredients and, on the way back from Machu Picchu, Andean music and a fashion show in the carriage. Most of our packages pair one of each. If a quote just says "train", ask which.

The tickets: two that matter

The Machu Picchu entry is the ticket that sells out. In 2026 the adult foreign rate is S/152 plus an S/11 SERNANP fee. Routes that add Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain are sold separately and cost more. Our guide to Machu Picchu tickets explains the circuits. The second ticket is the Cusco Tourist Ticket from COSITUC, the body that manages it. The full version costs S/130 for foreigners, covers 16 sites and lasts 10 days. It is only sold in person, so having it inside the package saves a queue.

How do our packages compare, side by side?

The figures below come straight from our itineraries and price list. Prices are "from" per person in US dollars.

Package Days From Lunches written in Train Domestic flight
Machu Picchu and Cusco 3 days 3 US$727 0 (2 breakfasts) Expedition out, Vistadome back Not included
Machu Picchu and Cusco 4 days 4 US$774 1 Expedition or Vistadome Not included
Machu Picchu and Cusco 5 days 5 US$914 2 Expedition out, Vistadome back Not included
Lima and Cusco 6 days 6 US$880 Sacred Valley buffet Expedition out, Vistadome back Not on the inclusion list
Lima and Cusco 10 days 10 US$1,720 Several, on excursion days Expedition out, Vistadome back Not on the inclusion list
Peru and Bolivia 10 days 10 US$1,817 3 (9 breakfasts) Expedition out, Vistadome back Listed as not included
Complete Aymara Baptism 12 days 12 US$1,377 3 lunches, 1 dinner Expedition out, Vistadome back Ask
Complete Peru 15 days 15 US$2,084 About 5, on long excursion days Expedition out, Vistadome back Overland by bus between regions
Peru and Bolivia 15 days 15 US$3,057 4 (13 breakfasts) Expedition out, Vistadome back Listed as not included

The long overland programs are the cheapest per day. Bolivia adds cost: a night bus to Uyuni, 4x4 days on the salt flat and remote lodges. And the meal count varies far more than the hotel standard, which is 3-star across the range.

About flights. Our Peru and Bolivia itineraries put "International flights and Lima-Cusco" under Not included. For the Lima and Cusco programs the inclusion list names hotels, train, tickets, transport and guides, and does not name a flight. Check in your written quote what is included. We can add the flight on request, priced separately.

How much does a Peru package really cost in total?

The total is the package price plus four things you add yourself: flights, insurance, the meals not written in, and tips. We can give you sourced numbers for some of them, not all.

What you add How to estimate it Source
International flight Depends on your city and dates Your airline
Lima to Cusco flight About 1 h 20 min, fares change daily LATAM
Tips for guides US$5 to 7 per person per guided day Andean Trails, 2024
Tips for transfer drivers S/10 to 20 per transfer Andean Trails, 2024
Restaurant tips 10 to 15 percent when service is not added Andean Trails, 2024
Machu Picchu Mountain or Huayna Picchu Optional, sold with fewer daily places than the standard circuit Ask for it as a separate line
Travel insurance with evacuation Quote from your insurer CDC recommends evacuation cover for Peru

Here is the ground cost before flights and meals, using the tip range above and the guided days in each itinerary:

Duration Package from Guided days Tip estimate Ground cost before flights
3 days US$727 2 US$10 to 14 about US$740
5 days US$914 4 US$20 to 28 about US$935 to 945
6 days US$880 5 US$25 to 35 about US$905 to 915
10 days (Lima and Cusco) US$1,720 9 US$45 to 63 about US$1,765 to 1,785
15 days (Complete Peru) US$2,084 14 US$70 to 98 about US$2,155 to 2,180

The guided-day counts are ours, from the itineraries. The tip range is a custom, not a rule. Tips in Peru are voluntary. For the full picture of coins, cash machines and how much to leave, see our guide to money and tipping in Peru, and for a Machu Picchu-only budget, how much a Machu Picchu trip costs.

How do you read a Peru tour quote?

Read it the way you would read a hotel bill: line by line, looking for what is missing. Ten questions cover almost everything.

  1. Per person or per group? Our prices are per person.
  2. Which hotel category and room type? Our "from" price uses 3-star hotels. Our booking form prices 2-star to 5-star and single, double or triple rooms separately. A single room costs more.
  3. Which towns do you sleep in? A night in Aguas Calientes, at 2,040 m, means an early, unhurried Machu Picchu morning instead of a day trip from Cusco.
  4. Which Machu Picchu circuit and entry hour? Our packages use Circuit 2, the classic route through the upper and lower parts of the citadel.
  5. Which train class, each way?
  6. Is the shuttle bus to the ruins included? It should be, both ways.
  7. Which Cusco ticket? Full or partial.
  8. How many lunches and dinners? Count them against the days.
  9. Are domestic flights in, and with what baggage?
  10. What happens if a strike closes the road or the railway? Our itineraries say plainly that landslides, bad weather and strikes are outside our control. Ask how a lost day is handled before you pay.

If an agency cannot answer these in writing, the price is not comparable.

Is a package worth it, or should you book it yourself?

A package is worth it when time and certainty matter more than the last dollar. You can book every piece yourself: the ticket on the official site, the train, the bus, the hotels. What you save in margin you pay in hours, and in risk when one piece moves and the others do not.

Book it yourself Package
Best for Flexible dates, slow travel, people who enjoy planning First visit, fixed holiday, busy months, family groups
Machu Picchu ticket, train, bus Three separate bookings that must match One booking, one schedule
When a strike moves the train You rebook each piece The operator rebooks
Price Lower in margin Higher, with guides and transfers built in

Either way, protect yourself on altitude. The CDC warns against going from low altitude to a sleeping altitude above 2,750 m in one day, and many of our Cusco packages send you down to the Sacred Valley or Aguas Calientes on the second night. Our Cusco altitude guide explains how to use those first days.

What we do and what we do not do

We are Viajes Cusco Perú, a tour operator based in Cusco. We design and operate the packages listed here. We do not sell international flights or travel insurance, and we do not run resorts. When a package includes a domestic flight, a hotel upgrade or a private guide, it appears as a priced line in your quote, never as a vague promise.

Frequently asked questions

Is an all-inclusive Peru trip the same as a resort holiday? No. On the Cusco and Machu Picchu route, "all inclusive" means a guided package that moves you between towns with hotels, transport, guides and entrance tickets paid.

What is included in a Peru vacation package? Typically 3-star hotels with breakfast, transfers, licensed guides, the Machu Picchu ticket, the train and the shuttle bus. Check each lunch, dinner and flight in the written quote.

Are flights included in Peru packages? International flights are not. Domestic flights depend on the package: our Peru and Bolivia itineraries list them as not included, and we can add them on request.

How much does a 10-day Peru package cost? Our 10-day Lima and Cusco package starts at US$1,720 per person and the Peru and Bolivia 10 days at US$1,817, before flights, tips and insurance.

Are meals included in a Peru all-inclusive tour? Breakfast is included every hotel night. Lunches are included only on the days written into the itinerary, and most dinners are on you.

Is the Machu Picchu ticket included in packages? Yes, in all of our packages that visit Machu Picchu, on Circuit 2. Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain is an optional extra.

Do I need travel insurance for a Peru package? It is not included and we recommend it. The CDC advises travelers to Peru to consider medical evacuation insurance because of altitude and remote areas.

How much should I tip on a Peru tour? Tips are voluntary. A common range is US$5 to 7 per person per day for a tour guide and S/10 to 20 for a transfer driver, according to Andean Trails.

What is the cheapest way to see Machu Picchu with a package? Our shortest package, Machu Picchu and Cusco in 3 days, starts at US$727 per person with hotels, train, bus and the entry ticket.

Plan your package with us

Start with the length you have. For a short trip, the Machu Picchu and Cusco 4 days from US$774 covers Cusco, the Sacred Valley and a night in Aguas Calientes. For a first full trip to Peru, the Lima and Cusco 6 days from US$880 adds the coast. With two weeks, the Complete Peru 15 days from US$2,084 climbs gradually from the coast through Arequipa, Colca and Puno before Cusco. To add Bolivia, compare the Peru and Bolivia 10 days and the rest of our Peru and Bolivia programs. All our multi-day routes are listed under Peru itineraries. Before you fly, check the entry requirements for US citizens and our Peru packing list.

Updated October 2026. Package contents and prices checked on October 20, 2026, against our own itineraries and price list. Machu Picchu fees from the Ministry of Culture and SERNANP (2026), Cusco Tourist Ticket from COSITUC, train details from PeruRail, flight time from LATAM, altitude advice from the CDC, tipping ranges from Andean Trails and the exchange rate from the Central Reserve Bank of Peru.
